2009 Archer Spring and Junior road races
The Archer Spring and Junior road races on Sunday, 19 April, attracted near full fields to the surprise of the organisers who wondered if riders would accept the challenge of the hilly 15 mile lap based on Hughenden Valley village in the Chilterns that would have been used by the now cancelled Premier Calendar Archer GP.
Joint organisers Stuart Benstead, Archer RC and Doug Collins, Twickenham CC, found that riders from 1st down to 4th category wanted to ride on an old fashioned tough road race course and were prepared to take on the famous Whiteleaf hill three times in the 45 mile races, plus Longdown and Hughenden hills, on the basis it is the same for everybody .

Archer RC race starts up Central Region cyclo cross league

UPDATE: Results and more pictures here and even more pictures here. Congratulations to all the prize winners. Two for the price of one were offered by the Archer RC Cyclo Cross at Hillingdon Circuit on Sunday, 21 September, as it was a qualifying event for both the London League and the first in the new Central League. A special cyclo cross bike was not absolutely essential on this fast course which took in footpaths and some bits of the road circuit, so a normal road bike could suffice although heavier tyres were advised. There were special prizes for those on MTBs. |
| There were events for all categories, with a special course for the u12 and u10 youngsters. The normal prize list was augmented with subscriptions for Cycling Plus and ProCycling magazines from Future Publishing. |

Well Done Bradley Wiggins
Congratulations to former Archer RC member Bradley Wiggins on his two Olympic Gold Medals in Beijing.

The Archer RC is a cycling club based in West London. It was founded in 1926 in what is now Westbourne Grove.
It has a long history of producing great riders and running top class events.
The club now meets at The Hillingdon Cycle Circuit.
New members are always welcome.
